Tommy Thompson calls me at home at 9:30 PM (he was sequestered in “the bunker” for security reasons) and tells me that he spoke with Clay Johnson today and Johnson told him that he was going to recommend someone else and not me to the President. Thompson was clearly very angry and sad. I am more convinced now that this is a Clay Johnson agenda working here.
