Jan. 15-16, 2011 – Was Keynote Speaker at a Keystone Meeting in Vancouver, BC on Tuberculosis. Large (~800) audience, mostly post-docs. Very well received.
Feb. 15-16, 2011 – Went to San Juan to deliver the Opening Keynote at the NIAID/CDC/PAHO-sponsored Dengue Symposium. Great time. In accordance with my expanding to more emphasis on Global Health and Emerging Diseases.
Feb. 24-26, 2011 – Parents’ Weekend at Stanford. Absolutely wonderful time to see Ali in her beautiful school setting. Spent prior night in SF with Chris at the Queen Anne’s B & B and went to Jackson-Fillmore Restaurant. Days at Stanford were great. Saw women’s basketball team clinch the PAC -10 championship for the 11th year in a row by defeating Oregon. Also, saw #1 ranking woman tennis player (Barte) and men’s volleyball (ranked 4th in Nation).
