Amazing surprise: Irwin Redlener called me. He is a friend of Joan Baez and said that Joan is now an accomplished portrait artist and she is a great admirer of mine and has painted a portrait of me. Irwin wanted to know if it was OK for him
to give Joan my cell phone number. I said of course and within an hour Joan
called me and we had a wonderful conversation with her calling me an American hero. She texted a copy of the portrait to me. I gave her my home address and she will send me a print of it. See below:
