Anthony S. Faucidiary entry
Global – 102,600,000/2,200,000; USA -26,000,000/440,000 Had usual MWF Press conference by Zoom Had discussion with the team (+John Mascola) about how best to utilize the J & J product (Ad26). There will be a messaging issue about 72% versus 94-95%. We cannot designate it for any specific group for that reason and so we decided to just out it in the mix with the other vaccines and have people make their choice based mostly on 1 dose vs 2 doses. Got call tonight from Mayor Bill Di Blasio very concerned that the supply of vaccine for NYC is no where near meeting demand. He is begging me to check with WH and see if anything can be done – DPA or some other mechanism. I will speak with David Kessler about this. PRESS: White House Press conference with Nunez-Smith, Walensky and Slavitt; mGreta van Sustern – VOA; KMEX 34 TV – Los Angeles – Hispanic; CNN Situation Room with Wolf Blitzer
