Anthony S. Faucidiary entry
Global – 196,6000,000/4,200,000; USA – 34,800,000/610,000 Instagram from Israeli PM Bennett: August 1. 2021 – Global USA – 34,900,000/611,000 I got involved in an interesting situation regarding the expiration of the moratorium on evictions with the CDC in the middle of it. Apparently, the CDC has the authority to block evictions during a public health emergency. The moratorium expired and the Supreme Court ruled that they could not reinstitute it. Now Nancy Pelosi is furious because the public is blaming the Congress for not solving the problem. Pelosi is asking the White House to do it and the White House is turfing it to the CDC. The CDC does not have the authority to overrule the courts and so there's a lot of tension going on. Larry Horowitz who works with Pelosi called me to ask me to try and convince Rochelle to reinstitute the moratorium, get sued (which she will lose ), and thus give enough time to get money to the people who are being evicted to prevent their eviction. I got on the phone with Rochelle and offered to help her by giving her encouragement and support. It all worked out when Jeff Zientz worked with Ron Klain to have Rochelle write a letter to the president saying that she would love to keep the moratorium but it is legally out of her hands. In this way the good intention of the administration would be displayed , but they would not get into legal difficulty.
