Steve has asked that I help with the nomination of Dr. Fauci for the Carty award. The timeline is tight and the most immediate concern is the need for two reference letters from outside NIH (highlight below). I am happy to solicit the letters – have referees been identified? Carty Award for the Advancement of Science that will be presented at the National Academy of Sciences meeting next spring. The committee easily identify Dr. Fauci as an exceptional candidate for this award. I am writing ask if you would be willing and able to nominate him for this Award. The 2022 John J. Carty Award recognizes noteworthy and distinguished accomplishments in infectious diseases. The award is presented with a medal and a $25,000 prize.
