Presentation by the Shionogi (Takeki Uehara) Phase 3 data. The drug is an anti-viral similar to Paxlovid. The data were not particularly impressive since the study was done on people with very few symptoms and all the drug did was diminished by 24 to at the most 48 hours the duration of the symptoms. The study was not designed to determine whether or not the drug prevents the need for hospitalization than people with a high risk of severe outcome. All in all I was not impressed with the data because they were looking at the wrong population of patients.
