Global – 120,000,000/2,700,000; USA – 29,300,000/533,100 I took the led in pushing Janet Woodcock (FDA) and Rochelle Walensky (CDC) to make sure that all their ducks were in order. In fact, Janet checked and both Pfizer and Moderna had clean DART studies on record and CDC was following closely 2000 vaccinated pregnant women from a cohort of 31,000 and no red flags. All good so far. Participated in a very nice function at the National Cathedral where Francis Collins and I and Eliseo Perez-Stable gave brief remarks to various ministers from surrounding counties such as Montgomery, Arlington, Fairfax, District of Columbia, and others. The purpose was to have these African American pastors get publicly vaccinated in the cathedral so that their constituents would follow. It was one of many outreach efforts that Francis and I and others have been doing over the past months to stimulate interest in getting vaccinated.
